Who will actually handle your case?

An attorney will. The lawyer who evaluates your case is the lawyer who files it, takes the depositions, and argues it. Your file is not handed off to a rotating cast of associates or to a case manager who has never read it, and you are not routed through an intake screener before anyone with a law license hears the facts.

Why does representing only employees matter?

Because almost all of our time goes into one side of the problem: proving what happened to you and what it cost you. The firm does represent employers in a limited number of matters, so we run a conflict check before taking any case. If we cannot act for you, you will hear it at the first conversation.

What happens in the first conversation?

You get a candid assessment. Case evaluations are free and confidential. Some employment claims are strong but modest in value; some are large but slow; some are not viable claims at all, and we will say so. Most employee-side claims we accept are handled on contingency, where there is no fee unless we recover for you and case costs and disbursements are advanced by the firm and reimbursed from any recovery. Other matters are handled on a retainer. We tell you in writing which arrangement applies to your matter before you commit to anything.
